Fatality On the Longs Peak Trail In Rocky Mountain National Park

A fifty-five year old man from Lakewood, Colorado, died along the Longs Peak trail in Rocky Mountain National Park on Saturday, January 10.   The victim was approximately 2.5 miles (over 10,000 feet elevation) from the Longs Peak Trailhead.

Mountain Lakes Fisheries Management Plan Finalized

Mountain Lakes Fishery Management Plan Record of Decision
This action if approved by Congress will eliminate high densities of reproducing fish populations from select lakes and allow low densities of reproducing fish populations to remain in others. Non-reproducing fish will be stocked in certain lakes provided impacts to biological resources can be minimized. Lakes that are currently fishless will remain fishless. Up to 42 lakes may be stocked or otherwise remain fishable.

Finding of No Significant Impact signed for the Bright Angel Trailhead Area Design Plan at Grand Canyon Nat. Park

The Park's primary objectives for the design plan include enhancing the area's wayfinding and site amenities (including signing, shade, seating, and restroom availability), improving paths and connecting trails, eliminating rim edge vehicle parking to provide enhanced pedestrian circulation, and creating a sense of place – an area visitors will immediately recognize as the Bright Angel Trailhead.
