Visitor Centers to be Closed on Thanksgiving

The visitor centers at Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 25. Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site will be closed in its entirety.

National Park Fees Waived for Veterans Day

To commemorate Veterans Day, the National Park Service is offering free admission at all park units on Thursday, November 11. In addition, camping fees will be waived for the day at Theodore Roosevelt National Park, giving visitors one more fee-free opportunity to enjoy beautiful fall weather and spectacular badlands scenery.

Veteran’s Day 2010

In honor of the service and sacrifices of veterans, all National Park Service sites across the country, including Bryce Canyon National Park, will offer free visitor admission on Veteran’s Day, Thursday, November 11. The fee waiver applies to entrance fees only and does not include fees for permits or camping.

Free Entrance on Veterans Day at Redwood National and State Parks

In honor of the service and sacrifices of veterans, all national parks across America will waive entrance fees on Veterans Day, November 11, 2010. As part of the larger national effort, Redwood National and State Parks will also waive the day use entry fee into Jedediah Smith, Del Norte Coast, and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Parks.

Twelve Additional Black-footed Ferrets Released at Wind Cave

Wind Cave National Park, S.D. – Twelve additional black-footed ferrets were recently released in Wind Cave National Park. The ferrets, seven males and five females, were bred in captivity at the National Black-Footed Ferret Conservation Center in northern Colorado.

Hazard Tree Mitigation Work Continues in Rocky Mountain National Park

Park staff will be removing hazard trees beginning today on Trail Ridge Road above Many Parks Curve as part of ongoing beetle mitigation work.
