Park Staff Seeing Input On Lily Lake Dam Project

The Lily Lake Dam, located in Rocky Mountain National Park, has been rated a high-hazard dam by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Failure of the dam is not imminent, and park staff are evaluating long term solutions; considering two options to reduce the risk, either repairing or removing the dam.

Saber Tooth Cat Fossil Undergoes CT Scan

A 33 million year old saber tooth cat fossil met state-of-the-art 21st century technology at Rapid City Regional Hospital (RCRH) today. Badlands National Park, in partnership with RCRH, completed a CT scan of the well preserved skull.

A group of 62 bison that had been temporarily held in the Stephens Creek capture facility inside the northern boundary of Yellowstone National Park was released Thursday afternoon and moved south further into the park.

PROPANE BOTTLE RECYCLER FOR BRYCE CANYON

Bryce Canyon National Park has awarded contract P1330110054 to Wayne Wilson, dba WWW Industries, a small business in Billings Montana, for the purchase of a Mobile Propane Bottle Recycler (PBR). The “PBR” will be the fourth of its kind in the National Park system. Others are located at Yellowstone NP, Yosemite NP, and Grand Teton NP.
